Matt Carpenter suspended one game for contact with umpire

The MLB has announced that Cardinals star Matt Carpenter has been suspended one game for making contact with an umpire on Sunday versus the Brewers. He got extremely heated when the Umpire called a borderline pitch as a strike. He struck out in the bat. He then threw his helmet down in anger and got in the Umpire face very aggressively. Here’s the video;

At first it was a little unclear where the contact was but after watching more closely, the contact was made in the hat/face area of the Umpire. He did not appeal and will serve his suspension tonight versus the Blue Jays.

Deep breaths Mr. Carpenter.
